Christian Science Society

Matthew 10:8

“Heal the sick…”

The Christian Science Society of Kampala is a small, welcoming community that turns to God in prayer for healing — just as Christ Jesus taught. All are welcome, whatever your background.

Our teaching

Spiritual healing, understood and practiced today

Christian Science is grounded in the Bible and the healing works of Christ Jesus. He understood God to be Love, good, and all-powerful — and healed on the basis of that spiritual understanding, not ritual or superstition. Members of our Society believe that same healing is accessible to anyone, in Kampala and everywhere, today.

Commonly asked

Questions people bring us

What is Christian Science?

Christian Science is a system of spiritual healing based on the Bible, discovered by Mary Baker Eddy and explained in her book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. It teaches that God is entirely good, and that understanding this spiritually brings healing.

Is Christian Science the same as Scientology?

No. Despite the similar name, they are unrelated. Christian Science was established in 1879 and is a Christian denomination centered on the Bible. Scientology is a separate, unrelated organization founded in the 1950s.

Do I need to be a member to attend?

Not at all. All are welcome at our services and meetings regardless of background or belief. Membership is entirely voluntary and open to those who wish to formally join later.

All are welcome. Come as you are.
